40 Days of Prayer for the Pastors, Churches, Cities, and Requests of the Long Beach Harbor Southern Baptist Association.  See Prayer Resources above for full lists and definition of "SIG Alert."

Day 36 – Psalm 100.4-5: Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.  For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.

  1. Pray that we will continually give to the Lord a feast of thanksgiving and praise, for He is good and worthy, and His faithfulness endures forever.
  2. Pray for Be The Message South, their pastor Joe Hernandez and his wife and their family, their church leaders, and congregation.
  3. Pray for Tabernaculo Biblico Bautista “Amigos de Israel,” their pastor Rev. Roberto Ramos, his wife Auxi and their family, their church leaders, and congregation.
  4. Pray that our congregations will be granted Mission Service Corps, and other types of workers on short term mission projects, who will help them achieve the visions that God has given to our churches.  Pray for the churches of the California Southern Baptist Convention; the California Missions Offering; the Ministry Resource Center staff and the field staff as they serve CSBC congregations to reach the lost with the gospel; for our California Baptist University in Riverside, the faculty and staff, and the students who have come there from all over the world; for the California Baptist Foundation, who help congregations and individuals in financial ways; and for the California Migrant Ministries, “the ministry to feed those who feed us.”  Pray for Gateway Seminary of the SBC (new name) as they have now moved from Mill Valley to Ontario, built a new branch campus in the Bay area, and still maintain their effectiveness in training ministers and leaders for God’s Kingdom.
  5. Pray for discernment and understanding of God and His plans for our families and congregations, and the resources to fund, develop, and continue His plans.  Pray that God will show every leader of our churches how to develop and make disciples of the people under his or her care, so that more and more leaders will be brought into the fields to work in God’s Kingdom.  Pray that God will show us how to impact with the gospel every ethnic and unreached group within our 440 square miles (20x22 miles), and how to lead them to impact their people for Christ.

Thoughts for Thinking: (Changed Mondays & Thursdays.)

We have been given ‘power’ to witness for Christ.  We have ‘love’ to cast out all fear, and we have ‘a sound mind’ in Christ to faithfully testify to the truth of the gospel—that God is holy, that hell is real, and that the cross is the only way of escape. (2 Timothy 1:7) --A New Zealand surfer

He is not seeking a powerful people to represent Him.  Rather, He looks for all those who are weak, foolish, despised, and written off; and He inhabits them with His own strength.  –Graham Cooke

Never look where you’re going.  Always look where you want to go.  –Bob Ernst
